Peggy Ann Clifford, born Peggy Anne Hamley Champion, (23 March &#; 26 May ), was a British character actress.
She was well known for appearing in bit parts in comedy films. She appeared in four of Norman Wisdom's films (Man of the Moment, Just My Luck, Follow a Star, and On the Beat), as well as The Captain's Table, Carry On Cleo, The Cuckoo Patrol, Doctor at Large, Heavens Above!, Kind Hearts and Coronets, Make Mine a Million, and The Million Pound Note. She also appeared in the original production of the play Live Like Pigs.
Clifford was also a regular face in TV comedy, cropping up in seven episodes of Hancock's Half Hour and many series produced by David Croft, such as 'Allo 'Allo!, Are You Being Served?, and Hi-de-Hi!. Her biggest role in a Croft sitcom was as Mrs. Tickford in all six episodes of the short-lived Oh Happy Band!.
During a break in her acting career, she sold a block of flats in Fulham so she could buy and run a Chelsea grocery shop.
