1917
Zhong Sibin 钟泗滨 ( Cheong Soo Pieng ) ( 1917-1983 ) was born in Xiamen,
Fujian Province, in China.
He studied painting in the Xiamen Art Academy, then in the Shanghai Xinhua
Art Academy.
1946
He is one of the four artists and educators, pioneers of Singapore, with his friends :
Chen Chong Swee, Liu Kang, Chen Wen-Hsi.
He left to visit Bali with Chen Wen Hsi , Chen Zongrui and Liu Kang.
1952
Pictures of Bali exhibition at the British Council Hall in Singapore was perceived
as the beginning of the Nanyang School.
He participated in exhibitions of the group of the Society of Art of Singapore.
