Brandon Richard Flowers was born on June 21, 1981, in Henderson, Nevada. He grew up in an ordinary American family with moderate income. His father worked at a local supermarket, while his mother focused on raising the children. At the age of 8, Brandon had to experience a move to a remote town in Utah. Unable to adapt to the local environment, he decided to move back to Nevada and began living with his aunt.
Brandon's older brother had a significant influence on his musical interests. He introduced him to bands like The Smiths and U2, which sparked Brandon's interest in music. Later, he became fascinated with groups like The Cars, The Beatles, and The Cure. After finishing high school, Brandon enrolled in college but was eventually expelled. He then began searching for a job, which proved to be challenging without a formal education. In the early days, he worked as a hotel courier.
In 2001, Brandon Flowers made his debut on stage as a keyboardist for a relatively unknown band. His breakthrough came in 2002 when he formed his own band, The Killers. The idea to create his own collective came to him after severing ties with his previous group and being in a creative search. Through newspaper ads and friends, he formed the band with Dave Keuning on guitar, Mark Stoermer on bass, and Ronnie Vannucci on drums.
The music of Oasis had a significant influence on The Killers' early work, as Brandon wanted to create something similar due to his admiration for the band's style. The group initially performed in informal nightclubs and discos. Eventually, they had the opportunity to sign a contract with Warner Bros, but it did not materialize. The Killers' first contract was eventually signed with the record label Lizard King Records.
From there, the band's success continued to grow. In 2004, their debut album "Hot Fuss" was released, featuring several popular singles that became hits in the UK. In 2006, the band released their album "Sam's Town," followed by "Sawdust" in late 2007, delighting their fans.
The Killers have become one of the brightest representatives of the global underground music scene, with a significant contribution from their founder, Brandon Flowers.
